Jeep and Ram will issue a recall order for about 130,000 SUVs and pickups powered by 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engines. A premature fuel pump failure can leave them stranded.
Affected models include Jeep Grand Cherokees from model years 2014-2020 and Ram 1500 pickups from 2014-2019. The trucks have high-pressure fuel pumps that can wear out early. Drivers might notice excessive engine noise or a check engine light as the part begins to fail. When the fuel pump fails, the engine won't start.
Jeep and Ram parent company Stellantis says dealers will replace the high-pressure fuel pump with a redesigned part "with improved durability."
Recall repairs are always free. Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner, but they don't always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car has ever been recalled at our recall center.
